today...that event that kept me occupied for like around 9 hours.... 's none other than the concert held @ YMS ....ensembles like dance, harmonica, guitar (happened last friday) were held in school which could have gained an even more overwhelming response due to it being more roomy as compared to the more compact auditorium that is situated at Waterloo streeet...well this was the first public performance 've experienced so far...the theme for this year's concert 's bonbons le da musique (figure it out yourself what it means), of which the speciality and uniqueness arise from the comparison of the plethora of concert items with the assortment of bon-bons...lol....the feeling was great, a bit nervous, kept thinking that I am not that familiar with my part considering that I have been practising it for 6 days on and off...ok I got the opportunity to mingle with some of my cca mates in the holding room..took photo of the group that performed the 'family album'...(remember? the group of 5 which brought the most number of props up the stage and which 2 are at the piano at any moment in time?) ..........my favourite item, is the one which is the most unique....though it does not involve the most number of instruments, props, people, it nonetheless involves the greatest creativity and skill....it's none other than the 'Westside story' by Berstein....an interplay of techniques and humour were displayed comfortably in front of the audience as we see the two diploma-holders 'disagreeing' with each other over the piano, meanwhile maintaining their composure and coordination throughout the item...bravo....'Impromptu' by Gurlitt is definitely something worth remembering....even my piano partner cf wants the score lol....as for the piece which both of us played, it did not turn out really that well, as seen from some mistakes here and there on our parts as well as our 'serious outlook.....but cf's ping hu qiu yue (the only cantonese music) was truly remarkable....did he touch your heart? shall jump to the finale which wraps up the entire repertoire -- A willy wonka fantasy which would not have succeeded without the medley of instruments, that include the alto saxophone, violas, violins, cello, piano, chorale, sound effects.....that guy who pretended to be willy wonka is very weird and stange i find....10-15 minutes before the finale, cf, Ivana, that 'willy' guy (Zhao Feng) were like walking around YMS compound finding the backdoor....and guess what, Zhao Feng screamed when he accidentally placed his foot on a dredged road which nearly caused him to trip. On top of that, he made a big fuss about the roaches which were infesting the place....not say infesting la...but something less intense....very funny....laughed hysterically.....then we started to run about in a bid to reach the backstage (at level 2) on time..Willy Wonka was like scuttering down the pavement outside YMS back to the main entrance as the finale was commencing and he was still outside the premise of the auditorium...lololol..he is seriously damn funny...throwing the sweets and all....though he did not really throw far and high.....overall , it was great....ended at 10...took a maxis cab home with parents.....oh yea, another good news received just this morning, that my sis was among the 250 out of the 900 interviewees shortlisted for medicine faculty @ NUS.....lol....quite surprised considering that she failed to impress any of us while carrying out the mock interviews at home...but not so for all the hard work put in by and large ...thanks to all those who have extended their help in one way or another......that was a great day...though tomorrow shall be rather hectic too ....back to the concert, I would like to say one sentence:indeed thanks for making your appearance tonight...hope you really enjoyed yourself........
