vj piano ensemble

A piano. 1 piano was what I saw the moment I neared Victoria Performance centre. Yamaha. A while later or so, two pianos zoomed into view the instance I stepped into the fully-lit performace centre. They were there, on the stage, adjacent. Classic. It was only several minutes before when the cacophony of conversation and classical music was taking place, seemed like a nondescript introduction. Only when the distinguished guests had made their presence did the light intensity, voices of the herd and background music died down to a decrescendo. The moment of truth was signalled. The emcees, or rather, hosts for the night were somewhat interesting. Did not fail to enliven the chilly and quiet atmosphere with their gestures, beauty and humour. It was they who started the ball rolling with a bang! The lights came back, for a moment, quiet anticipation in the eyes of the audience was palpable. The pianists, poised and firm, took their strides to the centralised position, where the instrument lay ready, where the eyes of the audience were glued to, where a music was prepared to be borne.

Ensconcing in the chair, I could not help but think of the similarity, or rather, the difference in quality between theirs and ours. The playing was rather more sophisticated and professional. Yes we included props, lively emcees, costumes and even movements. But wait a minute, did not they do so? In fact, they included music as adapted from Nintendo super mario, hungarian dance. We had some interesting ones as well. I may not have actually witnessed our own concert from an audience's point of view, but at least I have witnessed myself going through the whole procedures of an actual performance itself, something dissimilar to sitting there. Duets were the main highlights, there are none others I guess except for a few trios and last but not least, the single piece. It was the finale, taking the stage was my friend's senior Zhongkun. He may not have been the one who kept the audience enthralled ever from the start; he had single-handedly emanate the true sense of professionality, of why we were encouraged to grab a seat that night. It was awe-inspiring for piano players like me, not to say CF. In fact, both of them are my inspirers. IT was worth the while.

so much for the concert. As for academics, I would hope that they won't do me embarrassed come nine weeks time. As for H3's , should I stick to physics and Math? It is fine in fact. As long as the inclination to do self-study is there, though at the expense of demoting to H1 econs from higher 2 level. Well we'll see. If not for next monday's unofficial holiday, I guess the quality of my EoM will not be as good as compared to that of having a par monday, not forgetting the catching up of my revision as well. It has been long since I updated but even shorter since I reneged my promise of doing so.
