phew... one obstacle down...1 more to go... today was supposed to be damn draining. but i think i felt much more refreshed probably thanks to the weather. Well it rained just as we finished the last station (2.4). This time round, napfa retest was kind of scary. At the start, the pe teachers deployed us to different stations, depending on what we felt less hopeful in. At first I was quite blur -reported to the wrong teacher as i came late. I reported to mtr koh SY who was in charge of the people who did not take napfa earlier on due to their hectic competition schedule during the nationals season. I looked around and realised that the people were sportsmen and immediately sensed something amiss. so I went to find mr gopi who was already monitoring and assessing the boys at the pull -up station. There was quite a bunch of people there, say about 25? this was the determing station for most, if not all. Watching them taking turns to try out their hopes, of whom some to no avail, was really demoralizing and disheartening. Some looked fit and able but could not even surpass the first pull. the teachers were particularly careful this time, not just giving a cursory glance at the number of pulls we could accomplish, but trying to ensure that our arms were fully straightened after every pull and that our chins were high enough --those who passed thanked god, well those who failed sighed at the prospect of being able to retake napfa next week. I was quite worried as usual at first- have not been doing pull-ups the correct way, though i could manage a 6 with that being the case. So when it was my turn, i just gave it all I could and eventually managed to scrape a 4. At first, hearing that most were trying to reach a 5, i can't help but . While I was trying to save my skin, the teacher was as though saying an evil mantra : 'up, ok, up,..so on' . Everything went on smoothly until the 3rd pull which without his permission to continue, i just proceeded on to the 4th which I found physically challenging enough. Think this teacher is a bit more lax, mr gopi would not have been too lenient in that case. Thanks to this teacher, things were more efficient and standards were not too harsh all in all. The results of the remaining stations:
shuttle run -- 9.4
sit ups -- 43
standing broad jump -- 230 (did not really expect so)
sit and reach -- 42
2.4k -- 10.55
ashley was there as well. lol. he could have just got things done with should he exert a bit more for the last station. guess 2.4 was a determing station too. after all it was the last station and most were either too worn out, complacent, etc. to complete the station well. Haven't really been hardcoring 2.4 nowadays, so felt quite satisfied, if not for the last full sprint for the last 100m lap. (actually perhaps because there was some girl at the verge of overtaking me) have been conserving energy for this last sprint anyway, it was fun though. before that was econs remedial, a horde of students turned up this time, cuz it's NCT and not anyone else. with his friendly, warm personality and his clarity of mind & speech, it was no wonder why even students who have gotten a D would be interested in attending his class. Well it was much finer than the usual econs lesson. On an informal note, wat i may not feel secure about was that i did not attend his birthday celebration at the range last week and top of that, did not wish him a belated b-day today. but i think without I being there it would have not make much of a difference. any way happy belated mr NCT! went to mechant court shortly after returning home. quite a fulfilling day i would say
