here i am now. back to the blog. 8 weeks of BSLC have passed and this is the end of it. Overall it has been a wonderful experience over at PLC. Gotten the achievements which I have wanted (in IPPT, SOC and Games day) and most importantly finished the 30k route march overnight when i have not even completed the 24k during the last day of BMT. POP now is definitely much more gratifying than before. Got the posting results on the last day - 1 batallion MI. Its more or less a new vocation (started out a year ago) and it is categorized under the recce units. Basically from what I know about this vocation, one gets to learn jungle survival skills like the killing of animals with bare hands, spreading mental strength and energy over a period of 4 days outfield etc so as to be alert at all times. Travelling wise, there is this a motorbike/jeep training spanning the month of june which comes in handy for recce troopers who need to cover large grounds in search for clues and information about the surrounding environment. This would mean a 1-month stay-out period and one gets to enjoy office hours training/work. However, the shortcoming is that our quarters are located at PLC yet again and travelling may prove to be a hassle. What may be good about being a MI recce spec is the pride I guess as well as THE UNNECESSITY OF PUTTING ON THE HELMET. The forest hat will supersede it. Heard that the training will last the whole year and it is only then when one gets promoted to a sergeant. Wonder how training is gonna be like. One thing is for sure, that we will not forget the experience at BSLC, the people there, especially the enciks (there's one whom i will remember for good for his sarcastic humor) , the friends, the nights out etcetc Good luck to the next batch of BSLCers. Training may be quite tough AT TIMES but overall, the admin time is way more than expected and the level of strictness is not beyong skylimits.
