:)

On the whole this week was rather hectic. We had fast marches on monday, wednesday and friday, of which the distance totalled up to 14km! I had to say that it is but the start of the life of a recce commander. Based on our performances this week, I had to say that we are more or less geared towards RCC as we managed to meet the timings alotted from the start, save for the close shave in timing for the the most recent fast march. However, the rejuvenating feeling at the end was what I always looked forward to achieving, all the more if the distance covered was greater. We were prepped on how the RCC course would be like - an 8-week training phase composing activities like long walk, river crossing, link up, recce, open navigation and of course mental 'torture'. From what a sergeant from another company mentioned, there would be periods when we could revitalise ourselves with adequate sleep and rest like during waiting times as well as the period before the long walk but on the whole, it would be rather energy sapping, as per the information one would have gathered about recce. This week we had our prep as usual, learning the use of signal sets and certain new instruments (with regard to information relay) which would certainly be phased out anytime soon albeit its sufficient functionality in today's era. The connection of cables from a component to another may seem rather frazzling but learning them is rather easy, as long as one understands what each and every component is used for. I thought that I would not have made it for the test but I proved myself wrong by actually settling up the equipment and doing the necessary confirgurations via the pc with some guidance though. It was quite a nice feeling having learnt something within a short span of a few days, maybe 2? Had my birthday celebration on wed with parents as everyone's able to claim their off on their birthdays provided it's a weekday and that there are no major activities going on on that day. Toon was so nice enough to sneak out illegally to JP to get a mini cake from bakerzin hahas. Thanks dude (if u're reading this) u're the best senior man! and of course not forgetting the birthday song and stuff. Received a card with those August babies on Friday at the courtyard where we had a real celebration. Though our batallion may be small, it was rather close-knitted. Went to sentosa with my BMT mates yesterday. Man, that was fun! Basically what we did was playing frisbee, monkey soccer, monkey volleyball on the sands under the sun and also getting into the sea for a cooling session. HaHa Kw suggested skin dipping cuz he forgot to bring extra underwear hahaha!!! Had a great whale of our time man, especially when it's been 5 months since we last kept in touch. We ate at Carl's after wards and went to watch final destination 3D version which wasn't that good, not referring to the 3D graphics though. The plot was average and the whole movie was unrealistic and gory!! Did not appear as nice as I thought it would be; the ending spoilt it partially. So much for yesterday.
